Time to meet the guy who came to within a hair's breadth of the 2013 Western Province superbike championship,Aran van Niekerk.

It was a season filled with thrills and spills and Aran was always at the forefront.His new Kawasaki meant that he could compete on level ground where in previous years his slightly aged (in terms of bike racing) Yamaha R1 required super human effort to stay on the podium and even then he excelled.

Now we're one race into the 2014 season and even though he's still recovering from the crash that put him out of the running in the final meet of 2013,Aran has made his intentions clear.

Another year of full ball battles….eyes on the prize.
