The Breakfast Run Gran Prix is a longstanding single event hosted by the Western Province Motor Club at Killarney International Raceway aimed at discovering new talent and growing motorcycle racing the Western Cape.
On average there are about four of these events per year but it’s not quite as simple as showing up and being a hero. The Breakfast Run GP is a bridge between the ever popular motorcycle track school scene where riders are divided into three riding groups based on skill level and where the ‘Fast’ group is the graduate pool for those riders who wish to test the waters of amateur racing.
The event is usually run at regional championship meetings (or in the case of the 24th of March, the national champs) where the new racer can experience the full mix of tension, trial, and just maybe, triumph.
